E Voo Sempre was a project I produced in Portugal as my Final Major Project at Escola António Arroio. I produced it at final year of college, just when I was 18 years old.
This project explores audiovisual reflection and the art of living in harmony with the present moment. I came to realise that many of these reflections naturally align with poetry.
In a conversation with my Portuguese teacher, Professor Dionísio, on the subject, he introduced me to the work of the Brazilian poet Manoel de Barros.
The day-to-day life of Dinis, and all his actions—carried out in isolation from interaction with others—form a central thread that converges on a singular theme: the simplicity of being a child.
This simplicity reveals a peculiar and curious innocence, which branches in two directions: on one hand, the desire to grow and experience the vastness of the external world; on the other, a desire to preserve the timeless spirit of childhood —to preserve the innocence that once belonged wholly to him.
